• Instant Messenger
    Emails should be retrieved from the server to be read. Usually it takes a minute, several days in the worst case. Bassline WinPopUp sends and receives messages in real time. [BACK]

  • P2P, No server, No address book
    Bassline WinPopUp is a pure peer-to-peer messenger which doesn't require dedicated server. You don't have to setup and manage the server or to generate account. If you are accustomed with file sharing, just install and use. In the send dialog, list of online users works like an automatic address book. To send to email addresses, address book setup is required, but it is only for supplemental use. [BACK]

  • Complete SMB protocol and IP address, Email
    You can send to diverse addresses, user name (login name), computer name, workgroup name and email(SMTP), IP address.
    It is fully compatible with 'messenger service', 'net send', 'Microsoft WinPopup', Printer notification, 'Linux LinPopup'..., But Nowadays, 'messenger service' is used for tons of spam messages. Messenger service compatibility can be disabled in the 'Settings'. If reqeusted frequently, spam filter will be implemented also. [BACK]


  • No wait for response
    Response is required for phone or chat style messenger. Bassline WinPopUp is similar to email in its behavior. You don't have to wait for your contact to respond or permit. Just send, forget it and do your work. When you receive the message, you don't have to respond promptly. Respond at your own convenient time. [BACK]

  • Instant message without limit in length
    You can send popup message to multiple recipients with file attachment. Upon receipt, popup message comes up with alerting sound with diverse options, e.g. wave, MIDI, pc speaker. It hides to tray-area when not in use.
    Other WinPopup replacers have limit of several kilo bytes in message length. New Bassline WinPopUp supports practically unlimited message length. [BACK]

  • HTML text
    With HTML text format, you can write a message copying or dragging HTML pages from web browser. Using this feature, web page can be sent with embedded pictures published on the web site you're surfing. HTML editing features are supported by shortcut keys. [BACK]

  • Rich text with Object embedment
    You can write a message in rich text format with various fonts, colors, sizes, bold... (shortcut keys) And also with embedded various objects like Excel chart, PowerPoint slide, Microsoft Project, bitmap pictures. It is recommended to use small pictures because they are bloated to large Bitmap pictures. Bitmap picture is 40 times bigger than same JPEG picture. Learn how to embed... 
    Also message supports automatic detection of URL or file path, which enables clickable Hyperlink to Web site, email address, shared network file/folder. [BACK]

  • File/Folder transfer
    Files and folders are attached in the message. It doesn't require complicated works as file sharing, e.g.Sharing, setting password, notifying password, waiting for retrieval, unsharing... It is even faster than file sharing. And you don't have to waif for the recipient to respond. [BACK]


  • Command line message
    Message can be generated and sent from command line, usually in your own program. Text file can be used for message body. For example, at the end of long simulation, text result can be sent to your remote machine easily. [BACK]


  • Security
    Messages from Microsoft WinPopup or some of third party replacers are not encrypted. It means that messages can be viewed easily on the line using network packet monitoring software. All the messages between Bassline WinPopUp are encrypted by the advanced algorithm, Twofish by Bruce Schneier. It is secure from the hackers.
    Performance of encrypted file tranfer has been much enhanced from version 3.43, approximately 4~5 times faster. [BACK]


  • Reminder and Programmable messages
    Smart Messages are customized and recalled by diverse methods like context-menu, button, global hotkey. This message is recalled with frequently used text and recipient names. While web-surfing, copy text to send to someone, and then press CTRL+SHIFT+V. It will open Send dialog with pasting the text. If recipient is specified to this key, all you need is to press Send button.
    Smart Message is scheduled to be sent at a specified time (once, hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly). Of course, this reminder message can be sent to multiple recipients including email and IP address. [BACK]
